For this fall’s theatrical performance, Oklahoma Wesleyan University presents Robert Harling’s hit play, “Steel Magnolias.“
Set in the 1980s, six, sassy women from Louisiana are brought together through the stimulating conversation at their local beauty salon. Truvy, the shop owner, readily advises the variety of personalities who walk through her door, creating more customer loyalty than a good haircut could ever muster. The combination of humor and drama in “Steel Magnolias” beautifully weaves together the themes of friendship and mortality, creating an unforgettable story.
Director C.D. Jarmola has been working with a fantastic cast of student actors including: Molly Sparks, Dani James, Mysti Rothfuss, Peyton Weaver, Emily Graber, and Jelena Beasley. These leading ladies would have the audience know that they hope to see a wide range of people in attendance. “This play has an all-f
emale cast, but finding friendship and laughter through hard times is something that can be universally appreciated, whether female or male,” emphasized Beasley as “Ouiser.”
Advanced tickets are available by calling 918-335-6227 or may also be purchased at the door. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
